The third round of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for the JEE Advanced qualified students had been put on hold under the directive of the Supreme Court in response to a plea which required a new merit list to be released because of the ‘bonus marks’ given.

The Supreme Court however withdrew its directive and asked all the IITs to continue conducting the admission and counselling process that would have been initiated on July 7 (Friday). The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) after revising the schedule for the third round of JoSAA have announced the same and are set to start counselling from today. The status of all the seats including their allocation will be displayed today at 7:00 pm.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 97 institutes for the academic year 2017-18.

This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 other government-funded technical institutes (other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these institutes will be made through a single platform. It had displayed first round of seat allocation on June 28, 2017 for JEE main and advanced aspirants.
